Connecting and celebrating 'YOUR WHY' is a fundamental part of yoga, which I love to guide my students through.

"I started practicing yoga in my early-thirties as I suffer with scoliosis. I wanted to feel better in my body and learn to manage my back pain - that was my WHY. The moment I 'found my mat' I instantly fell in love with yoga. But why did I fall in love? Physical - sure, no brainer! But it was the mental side of yoga that I was inspired by - which came out of nowhere!
As I learned more about yoga and became a yoga teacher my WHY changed:
"to be strong & confident, on and off the mat."
Strong and confident in my life decisions, in my life goals, in starting new business ventures, in myself, and in life.
And -
most importantly - my
WHY, my new mindset, and my yoga practice has helped me with grief and the loss of my mum.

If, for example, you practice because you would like to feel better in your body then ask yourself WHY - is it so you can run around after the kids without running out of breath?! Is it because you'd like to lose weight - if so, what is your reason behind losing weight? Or do you practice yoga to de-stress and feel less more calm?
Your WHY is a reminder - if ever you find a yoga pose too challenging on the mat, or maybe feel anxious off the mat, you come back to your WHY and focus your mind.
In our classes, we take ownership of our WHY and celebrate them - using them as a driving force to keep coming back to your mat. Your WHY becomes your intention for the class. Your intention becomes your driving force. And your driving force changes your life. Sounds good? That's because it is!

Flamingo Yoga Maya was founded by Anna, whereby she encourages her students to live a well-balanced lifestyle - celebrating your WHY, nurturing your goals, escaping the stress of everyday life, and designing the life you want. This is key.
Classes are relaxed and fun, helping people move more in their day-to-day lives, stretch, feel and understand their bodies more. Anna teaches relaxing Yin to energising Vinyasa, breath work, meditation and mindfulness.
