Blog Post

Welcome

Anna Kichenside

Welcome everyone.

This is my first blog post.

I've wanted to write this blog for sometime, but never quite knew where to start. My intention was to create a blog simply about 'things that make me smile', appreciating design in all its form - be it fashion, art, music, dance, yoga, graphics, architecture, nature, colour, the list goes on. It can be anything. If it makes me smile, then it's going in the blog!

Throughout my yoga journey, and especially after my training, I've come to realise that it's the little moments in each day that we should acknowledge - take a breath, be in that moment and appreciate it - for that is a mini meditation. And so, this blog was originally going to be a Visual Meditation about Things That Make Me Smile.

Smiling is one of the best things! But how often do we recognise it or connect with it? If you see a beautiful painting by a famous artist, and it makes you smile - you might say to yourself 'wow that's an amazing painting'...but how often do we then say 'wow that's an amazing painting - it's just made me feel good and put a smile on my face!' That right there is a mini meditation and being in the present moment, connecting to a feeling or emotion.

However, as I'm working my way through this thing called life, I'm realising that as well as holding mini-meditations and recognising the great feeling of a great smile, I've become increasingly aware of actually how important it is to find 'balance' and find 'your why'. Read on and through the blog to find out more about creating balance in your life and connecting to your why. Because it's balance that helps to bring peace into your life, and it's your why that will guide you through everything life throws at you.

So, back to my original intention of the blog - here is my Visual Meditation. It's a photo of my little sausage dog, Millie, who not so long ago went to heaven. Love of my life who ALWAYS made me smile.

Hope she puts a smile on your face too...😀
